Attorney Jeffrey A. Pitman focuses on helping families whose loved one suffered a wrongful death and nursing home and assisted living abuse and neglect.  In more than 32 years of practice, Mr. Pitman has helped thousands of people and obtained tens of millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements in New Mexico, Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois.  Mr. Pitman obtained an $11 million dollar verdict in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2019 for a family of Esther Collado who was the victim of nursing home neglect.  Mr. Pitman also obtained a verdict of $1.5 million dollars in Albuquerque in 2016 for a nursing home resident’s family whose father sadly choked to death.

Mr. Pitman and PKSD have successfully argued before the New Mexico Court of Appeals and New Mexico Supreme Court.  In the Peavy case, Mr. Pitman and his team helped form the law on the enforceability of nursing home arbitration agreements.  In the Collado case, Mr. Pitman and his team helped advance the law of joint venture to that the owners, operators and managers are jointly held accountable for the neglectful care of a resident.  Mr. Pitman and PKSD have been on the front lines of protecting New Mexico nursing home and assisted living patients.
